MediaPipe's 468-point face mesh enables geometric scoring of portrait quality. We compute headroom ratios, facial bounding box centrality, occlusion detection via landmark visibility, and framing scores — all using Euclidean distance calculations on the normalized 3D landmark space. The API validates face completeness in <50ms.
Radiance computes solar altitude and azimuth using the astronomical solar position algorithm (SPA). Given latitude, longitude, date, and time, it calculates the sun's declination angle via Kepler's equation, applies atmospheric refraction correction, and casts rays through apartment floor plans to determine lux values at each point. Used for optimizing indoor plant placement.
Computational modeling of standing wave patterns on bounded strings. Explores harmonic series decomposition, boundary conditions, Fourier analysis of composite waveforms, and resonance frequency calculations. Applicable to both physical string instruments and theoretical string models in physics.
Published research demonstrating that algorithmically generated names based on universal Consonant-Vowel (CV) structure converge with real human nicknames across 8 cultures at rates 60x higher than chance. 244 exact matches found, with 140x higher match rate for 2-syllable names — evidence of a fundamental trochaic bias in human naming conventions.
Custom Python pipeline for analyzing CPAP machine data (EVT2 format). Decodes binary event streams, extracts apnea-hypopnea indices, pressure curves, leak rates, and tidal volume over time. Generates clinical-grade reports with statistical summaries and trend visualization for sleep therapy optimization.
